The Central College Campus Library is an integral part of this historic legacy. Established in 1858, the library functioned in its heritage building from 1858 to 1958, completing a remarkable 100 years of service in the old campus. From 1958 to 2016, the library continued to serve the academic community at the Bangalore University Central College campus, expanding its collections and services. Since 2017, the library has been functioning in the new campus, embracing modern infrastructure, digital resources, and user-centric services while preserving its invaluable heritage collections.

Loan Privilege (Rules to Borrowing of Books)
- 2 Books for Students for 15 Days
- 10 books for faculty for 30 Days,
- 05 books for research scholars for 30 Days
- Library Membership Card must be presented when borrowing or requesting materials
- Borrowers must satisfy about the physical condition of the books before borrowing, otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage later or at the time of return.
Late Return fee is Rs.2per day/per book.(Over due Charges )
- If a book is lost, report immediately. One month is given to find and return it. If not returned, If not replaceable, pay 3 times the book cost .Photocopies not accepted.
- Validity of Cards for the entire duration of the course to access library facilities at the end course membership Card shall be returned to the library.
- Loss of Membership card should be reported to the Librarian . Duplicate card may be against formal application and fine of 100/-
Books are demand may not be renewed.
- Care of Library Membership card do not fold, alter enteries made on the cards, Members are responsible for the entire set library Membership card.
- No due certificate shall obtain from the library after returning all the books issued , surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding fees, if any
- 05 books for Research Scholars/PhD/ SRF/CSIR/FIR for 30days & Library charges fee Rs. 1000/-

Digital Library
D Space : DSpace is an open-source software platform used to build and manage digital institutional repositories into a digital library . Its primary functions are to capture, store, index, preserve, and distribute digital materials, making it a crucial tool for institutions to provide access to their research output, scholarly publications, and other digital vital collections.
Content:The DSpace repository serves as a digital archive for the university's research, which includes:
- Books
- Journal articles
- Conference papers and proceedings
- Technical reports
- Presentations/lectures
- Student project reports and dissertations, Previous Questions papers
- Access:The system allows users to browse documents by author, division, subject, date, and document type. It also provides both simple and advanced search functionalities.
- Integration:The university also contributes its PhD theses and dissertations to the national Shodhganga reservoir, which is also built using DSpace software.
The university encourages its faculty and students to contribute their research data and useful information to enrich the system.
ONOS :One Nation One Subscription" (ONOS) portal provides students, faculty, and researchers across India with centralized access to premium e-journals and databases.

- Go to the ONOS User Access Page and log in with your verified credentials.
- Review and Accept the consent conditions.
